Review: Freya Beer – ‘Six Months’

Southampton based Freya Beer is back with her second release, brand new single 'Six Months'.

Taking her influences from many art forms, 'Six Months' is inspired by the painting "Proserpine" by the Pre-Raphaelite artist Rossetti, and the greek mythology behind its creation. Freya is also a big fan of poetry, and you can see this in the way she writes her songs, having a poetic feel to the lyrics and how they are laid out across the song.

Like in her debut single 'Bike Boy', Freya's sound comes largely from her driving and repetitive guitar riff and pounding drum beat. She has certainly started to make a name for herself in Southampton, is this the single that starts to get her name and unique style noticed further afield? We absolutely think so.
