Unmissable: Dials Festival 2019

Dials Festival has come around again! The new music discovery based on Southsea's Albert Road has made a big name for itself over the past few years and is still providing one of the best lineups of upcoming bands in the country. It also supports charity Solent Mind with all tickets including donations to the charity.

We have picked 5 bands we think are unmissable including one of the most difficult clashes we have seen all year!

Walt Disco

We discovered Scotland's Walt Disco when they supported Sports Team on tour earlier this year. Their unique theatrical art-pop style brings flamboyant and energetic live performances and has made them one of the best live bands of 2019.

Talk Show

Talk Show are just another example of how punk music might be one of the strongest genres existing in the UK music scene right now. If you are a fan of the likes of Shame or Heavy Lungs then you have to make sure you go and see this set, it will undoubtedly be one of the best sets of the weekend!

Arxx

Arxx are certainly known for having a big sound. Their Spotify bio describes them as a 'garage-rock gal pal duo' and we could not have put it better. They have been smashing shows for a while now and it will not be long until they are playing much larger venues so go see them play small spaces whilst you can!

Wych Elm

After seeing them play Truck Festival earlier this Summer, Wych Elm have been regulars on our speakers. Their delicate alternative rock style has been compared to the likes of Pixies, especially their single '1983'.

Porridge Radio

Porridge Radio's fuzzy grungy pop style has got them support from the likes of DIY, Line of Best Fit and BBC Radio 6 Music. Starting out as Dana Margolin's sadcore band they have now become a post-punk 4-piece. They released their first full-band LP back in 2016 and then in 2019 they made their eager return and are sounding better than ever.
