Reading + Leeds is always one of the biggest festivals of the Summer and an amazing way of spending your bank holiday weekend. Unfortunately, we will not be there this year, but for those of you lucky enough to attend we have chosen 8 bands that we feel are truly unmissable.
22-year old Pip Blom started out as a solo project in 2016. Now with a full band, this is the set of the weekend that will make you want to dance and undoubtedly you will leave still singing the songs. They have already played several festivals this summer including Truck Festival and THREE shows at Glastonbury 2019. We cannot stress enough that this might be the best set of the whole weekend.
Reading: Saturday - 12:50 - BBC Radio 1 Stage
Leeds: Sunday - 12:20 - BBC Radio 1 Stage
This is not the first time we have included FEET on the unmissable list of the summer and after seeing them smash their Truck Festival set, we were never going to leave them out of this one. Their wonky/jangly rock style and their inability for any of them to ever stand still during their sets makes for an absolute spectacle.
Reading: Saturday - 16:20 - BBC Introducing Stage
Leeds: Sunday - 16:20 - BBC Introducing Stage
Slowthai's incendiary debut album 'Nothing Great About Britain' is possibly one of the best albums of the year so far. When it comes to live performances, he packs a punch and will definitely not hold back. This is set to be a packed tent, so if you want to get anywhere near the front, then get down a set or two early.
Reading: Saturday - 14:20 - BBC Radio 1 Stage
Leeds: Sunday - 14:10 - BBC Radio 1 Stage
If you want some proper rock music with pounding drum beats, fierce guitar riffs, and powerful and snarling vocals, The Mysterines are a band you have to see. Having released a very impressive debut EP earlier this year, they have been chosen to headline the BBC Introducing Stage and are a definite must-see.
Reading: Sunday - 19:20 - BBC Introducing Stage
Leeds: Friday - 20:10 - BBC Introducing Stage
Another band that we have already mentioned in our Unmissable feature this year, but we could not leave them out of the R+L list. The Cambridge sextet might be one of the most exciting emerging bands of 2019 and with such an exciting, energetic and impressive frontman in Alex Rice, this is going to be a lively and probably pretty unforgettable set.
Reading: Saturday - 18:20 - Festival Republic Stage
Leeds: Sunday - 18:10 - Festival Republic Stage
